24h bushcraft workshop for queers
20-21 june
about
join us on a 24-hour bushcraft skillshare for the queer community, on june 20-21.
together, we will explore skills for being in a more-than-human world. think foraging, navigation skills, tracking, shelter building, listening, fire making, tree climbing, camouflage-as-drag and building interspecies friendships.
grounded in ecofeminist thinking, we want to reclaim bushcraft — often dominated by cis men — from a QINTAW* perspective, centering care, interdependence and collective survival skills.
this is a skillshare: we aim to center the programme around skills participants would like to learn and/or share.
*queer, intersex, non-binary, trans, and agender persons and women
— butchcraft will run from june 20, 15h until june 21, 15h, 2026.
— we would like to limit the group to max. 15 people.
— we’ll be camping, so basic experience and comfort with sleeping outdoors is helpful. other than that, no previous bushcraft experience is required!
— we’ll be gathering at De Kluis (Kluis 1, 3051 St.-Joris-Weert), accessible by train (Sint-Joris-Weert) after a 20 mins walk (1,6 km).
— we ask a financial contribution, starting from €15 until €25. the real cost per person is €20, this includes the overnight stay and costs for food and material. please reflect on what you can offer, depending on your financial situation.
you can contact us on butchcraft@proton.me with any questions.
